Animation Masterclasses

TeenTech Live across screens

Join us for a special programme of free animation activities, designed to support students (and their teachers) enrolled in their Cambridge National iMedia qualification, and give younger students a taste of the course content. We’ll be featuring industry experts from film, television and gaming, and spotlighting pre-production, production and post-production skills.

TeenTech Live brings the exciting world of science and technology to life.

Hosted by well-known science and technology reporters, our interactive sessions are fun, engaging and provide real context to learning, helping young people understand more about careers and the way exciting emerging technology is shaping all aspects of our lives.

Would you like a career working in animation? Join us for a special series of free animation activities before, during and after February half-term! We’ll be featuring industry experts from film, television and gaming, and spotlighting preproduction, production and postproduction skills.

Join us on Thursday 10th February for a kick-off session where you’ll be able to meet and interact with industry experts from film, television and gaming.

Then, join us for practical masterclass workshops on Tuesday 15th February and Thursday 3rd March where we will help you turn your ideas into a short animated film (using free tools). We’ll also hold a troubleshooting session in half-term on Thursday 17th February.

If the timings don’t work for your school, or if you can’t join the sessions live, don’t worry! All sessions will be available for playback for ten days and you can even send us questions beforehand for our experts to answer.

We will follow up the Animation Masterclasses with our Animation Showcase where we’ll be streaming the animations you have made for the world to see!

We encourage you to sign-up your students for all of the following events, as they are designed as a complete course – from post-production, through production, and finishing up with post-production, helping them create their own animations.

Students do not need to register with us directly. You, as a teacher, can register your class/year group for each event. You will be sent the links to the sessions before each event which you can share with your students through your usual channels.

Your students do not need to own any specialist software to take part. All our tutorials will use free software, or software with a free trial, and we will let you know more details ahead of each session.

What Our Parents and Teachers Say…

This virtual offer is amazing, so well thought out and is executed seamlessly. Such a great idea, I will be sharing on Facebook and to all my friends for their children to get involved over the coming weeks. The last few weeks have been challenging with trying to work and homeschooling, and this project actually bought my own children closer.

Just wanted to say that, as a parent watching all of these sessions, you should all be very proud of yourselves! They are creative, thoughtful, funny, entertaining and show a lot of skill. Well done all and thanks to TeenTech for another amazing week.

What Our Students Say…

I have enjoyed this week so much! It has been exciting and I adored it! I learnt so much about sound and it was an incredible opportunity.

They have been an amazing experience and I have definitely had a deeper dive into the world of tech. I have understood that it’s not all about code, there’s so much more to it.

At the start of the week, I had a passion to be a game designer but I didn’t think I could do it. TeenTech has helped me develop my skills and helped me create a game that I enjoy. Thank You.

I have enjoyed the sense and the atmosphere of collaboration between industry experts, TeenTech’s presenter, Ali Maggs and the bright ideas shared to everyone by the teens. These lessons have been very informative and have made me think outside the box for new innovations and ideas.
