2017 has been a busy year for TeenTech City of Tomorrow. We have been working with hundreds of inspiring young people throughout the UK to create their vision of kinder, safer and smarter cities of tomorrow.

As well as our national programme for schools, youth groups and libraries we are also working with the Careers and Enterprise company to support students raise their aspirations and expectations of careers in modern industry.

We have met really engaged, enthusiastic and creative young people from Derby and Oldham who came up with some innovative and utterly brilliant solutions to the local and global challenges facing how we live today.

One of the teachers we worked with commented, “Having the chance to take part in something which really opens their eyes to their future, builds confidence, fosters creativity and the ability to work with others is invaluable.”

As well as taking part in interactive workshops and creating model buildings students were supported by industry partners including ATKINS, Balfour Beatty – Mott MacDonald, Rolls Royce, Cheshire East Highways and the BBC.

Through TeenTech City of Tomorrow we hope to support students understand the vast opportunities the connected cities of tomorrow will bring and how they can develop the skills they already have to shape their futures.

TeenTech City is open to all UK schools – and is designed for KS2 and KS3 students. Register here on our website now for a full resource pack.

We will be continuing our work with the Careers and Enterprise company in 2018 and continuing our engagement with schools in Derby and Oldham to build lasting and meaningful relationships.
