TeenTech comes to Tonbridge today
Students and teachers from 30 schools across Kent will experience a day with 140 scientists, engineers and technologists, all keen to share their latest innovations and help teenagers see how they could be be the ones designing and building the must have technology of the future. You can follow live pictures and updates on Twitter @teentechevent  . Or follow the #teentech hashtag.
We’re looking forward to a fabulous day. Harry Potter fans will meet the team behind the groundbreaking “Pottermore” website and learn what it takes to work at a digital creative agency like  Thin_k  Exploring biomimicry will mean climbing into velcro suits and sticking to an inflatable velcro wall.
Teenagers will test the physics of roller coasters, the authenticity of meteorites and their ability to fine tune a skeleton bob for an Olympic run. They’ll will also be inspired by leading app designers Dave Addey of Agant and Alyson Fielding from Pyuda, who’ll be running the “Design An App” challenge .
And that’s just the start! We’ll have the full set of pictures for the event up here as soon as possible.
In the meantime, a massive thanks for the innovative work of the companies who make TeenTech such a special event. They include Apps For Good, Agant, BAE Systems, BBC Blue Room, BCS, BT, Cummins, Denne, DTSL,Engineering in Motion, Google, IoD, IET, JVC, Kenwood, New World Telecom, NOISE, Pyuda, Samsung, Siemens, Smallpiece Trust, Thin_k, Treloar,University of Kent, University of Leicester and Zenos
A fabulous event. I have ten students enthused by technology, engineering and science. The day was perfectly paced for the age group, and balanced the eductaion with heaps of fun.
Many thanks to Maggie Philbin, the organisers and supporting companies, for a great day.

What an incredible day once again. It was a real pleasure to meet with these students and show just some of the career possibilities there are for them in the future. As so many people have said, I wish there had been something like this when I was this age.
A truely inspirational event that every tech employer would benefit from as well as every student.
Can’t wait for the next one!
