TeenTech Live brings the exciting world of science and technology to your school or home.
Last year’s TeenTech Live North East programme was a huge success, and we’re delighted to be launching our second year in November 2021 with exciting TeenTech Innovation Live sessions, TeenTech City of Tomorrow Live Build Day sessions, and our brand new TeenTech City of Tomorrow Smart Skills sessions!
Our programme in the North East is generously funded by the Reece Foundation.
Hosted by well- known science and technology reporters, our interactive sessions are fun, engaging and provide real context to learning, helping young people understand more about careers and the way exciting emerging technology is shaping all aspects of our lives.
TeenTech Live meets Gatsby benchmarks and has been highly praised by teachers, parents and students.
Our virtual sessions last an hour and students then have the option to work on short challenges or projects and participate in a follow-up feedback session with industry experts. We have sessions suitable for all ages, interests and abilities.
Booking is now open for our North East TeenTech Live sessions. You can register for these sessions below. You’ll receive access to our Teacher Resources which will also include access to the North East Teacher Briefing video.
TeenTech Innovation Live
For students aged 11-19
TeenTech Innovation sessions bring the digital, scientific and engineering world to life for students aged 11-19.
They focus on opportunities within a specific sector with input from local and national employers. Students have suggested the topics, and we have sessions planned for the North East, including Game Design, Cybersecurity, Animation, Internet of Things, Space, Health, the Environment and more! Each Innovation session will be followed up with live feedback on the students’ projects from industry experts.
Led by experienced tech reporters, students understand more about the emerging opportunities, different entry points, the technical and personal skills which will carry you further.
TeenTech City of Tomorrow Live
For students aged 8-13
TeenTech City of Tomorrow invites young people aged 8-13 to design ideas for the safer, smarter, kinder City of Tomorrow, surfacing careers in the connected city, increasing awareness of global sustainability goals, citizenship.
During our TeenTech City of Tomorrow Live Build Day sessions, students consider how physical spaces (home, health, education sport, entertainment, commercial) can provide better experiences for everyone and how they might play a part in the inclusive, digitally connected, city of the future.
Through our new TeenTech City of Tomorrow Smart Skills sessions, we’ll be running a number of online sessions to help develop coding (through making games).
The emphasis is on bold creative thinking with live feedback from local and national employers.

What Our Parents and Teachers Say…
This virtual offer is amazing, so well thought out and is executed seamlessly. Such a great idea, I will be sharing on Facebook and to all my friends for their children to get involved over the coming weeks. The last few weeks have been challenging with trying to work and homeschooling, and this project actually bought my own children closer.
Just wanted to say that, as a parent watching all of these sessions, you should all be very proud of yourselves! They are creative, thoughtful, funny, entertaining and show a lot of skill. Well done all and thanks to TeenTech for another amazing week.
What Our Students Say…
I have enjoyed this week so much! It has been exciting and I adored it! I learnt so much about sound and it was an incredible opportunity.
They have been an amazing experience and I have definitely had a deeper dive into the world of tech. I have understood that it’s not all about code, there’s so much more to it.
At the start of the week, I had a passion to be a game designer but I didn’t think I could do it. TeenTech has helped me develop my skills and helped me create a game that I enjoy. Thank You.
I have enjoyed the sense and the atmosphere of collaboration between industry experts, TeenTech’s presenter, Ali Maggs and the bright ideas shared to everyone by the teens. These lessons have been very informative and have made me think outside the box for new innovations and ideas.
A special thankyou to…
