Roehampton Innovation and Insight Day
Friday 14th November 2025 (With a TeenTech Live Virtual Event on Wednesday 22nd October 2025)
Supported By

The TeenTech Roehampton Innovation and Insight Day with upfront virtual session is for students from Years 8, 9 and 10. The two elements will provide unrivalled contact with academics and leading STEAM employers who will shine a light into their worlds and during the physical day provide activities and challenges to engage students. Every student will learn the skills required to help them come up with ideas for the annual TeenTech Awards which make life better, simpler, safer or more fun. They will learn that the skills they develop on their own projects, are just the same as those needed in the worlds of digital, science, engineering and technology.
We have a limited number of places available for this special day and early booking is recommended.

There are two parts to the experience: Schools can engage as many students as they wish in the virtual event (Session 1) and then choose eight students to represent their school at the in-person Innovation and Insight Day (Session 2). We recommend schools sign up for both the virtual session and the in-person event.
Session 1 – Virtual
Wednesday 22nd October 2025 – 9:30am – 10:30am
Students can join a TeenTech Innovation Live session to explore ideas for the TeenTech Awards and interact with leading employers. They’ll have the chance to ask questions and start developing ideas, some of which will be taken further during the visit to the University of Roehampton.
The session is open to any number of students—whole classes or year groups—and all can enter the TeenTech Awards. It’s a key part of the event and an excellent introduction to the in-person day. If you can’t join live, a recording will be available. Schools from across the UK taking part in the Awards are welcome.
Session 2 – Innovation and Insight Day
Friday 14th November 2025 – Full Day
Schools are invited to bring a mixed-ability group of 8 students to a free full-day event at the University of Roehampton. Students will take part in hands-on activities with university departments and leading STEAM companies, while developing ideas from the virtual session for the TeenTech Awards. They’ll also meet employers who will give feedback and share career pathways.
This inspiring day often changes perceptions—especially for those who may never have considered a future in science or technology!
We have a limited number of places available for this special day, and early booking is recommended. We recommend schools sign up for both the virtual session and the festival but it’s not compulsory.

An Opportunity to Innovate
Pupils will work in teams, in roles aligned with a start-up company, to become the inventors of tomorrow in an hour-long workshop and challenge! Students will be designers, developers and marketing experts, using sensors, data and cutting edge technology, to tackle real-world problems! Following the Innovation and Insight Day, all students will have the opportunity to develop their ideas further and enter the TeenTech Awards.
Industry Insights
Pupils will meet, and talk to real-world innovators, large technology companies, and industry leaders. Pupils get an understanding of the industry, and can participate in simulated tasks that illustrate the real work that goes into science and technology. They will also interact with regional companies, showcasing the wide range of exciting science, technology and engineering companies that the students may not know exist.
Challenges
Pupils will compete in simulated tasks that demonstrate real world work by major science and technology companies, and prizes are awarded. This is a chance to experience innovations in science, technology and engineering, and a chance to show students that they have the skills required to be successful in these areas.
